ABOUT 'OFF SEASON'

This body of work examines the traditional seaside resort during the off season. In the work, the locations portrayed are indicative of happy childhood memories and experiences. In contrast, these locations are depicted in a way which introduces feelings of sadness and loss which represent the loss of youthful innocence as the child grows to adulthood. This journey is fraught with differing levels of privation and we only reach full maturity when we experience the ultimate loss, that of a parent.

Off Season initially portrayed coastal towns in Ireland but it is planned to include locations in the UK and continental Europe.
